Sept 9-11, 2011 San Rafael Swell, Utah Lightning

Caryn and I went to Utah in search of lightning, landscapes and slot canyons. We found them all! Check out the photos below. These were taken on two different days along the Swell.

September 2, 2011 Colorado Lightning

This day didn’t look like much chance of severe storms, but it did offer the chance for local storms with decent lightning. Nature did not disappoint! Caryn and I went out east of town and had a blast! Several storms were prolific lightning makers and offered great lightning captures.

May 13, 2009 Kay County, Oklahoma Tornado

May 13th took us to the Kansas/Oklahoma border. Our initial target was north central Missouri but due to a late night in northwest Texas, it wasn’t going to happen. We positioned ourselves north of near Blackwell and watched as numerous cells developed on the front until finally a decent supercell formed just to our west. It quickly started rotating and produced a very nice tornado that was on the ground for over 15 minutes. Please click on the video link for a neat 2 minute video and click on the photos for a larger image of this very pretty and well structured tornado.

July 25 through August 3rd, 2008 Arizona Monsoons

This was our annual Desert Thunder tour for Silver Lining Tours, and it did not disappoint. Several days, we had intense storms developing off the mountains and moving over the lower deserts, providing wonderful electrical displays.
