We are proud to introduce the Silver Lining Tours Photographers Tour! This tour is a VERY small tour based from Denver, Colorado and led by your SLT owners Roger and Caryn Hill. Late spring and early summer often provide amazing structured storms, fantastic lightning, a few tornadoes and even the northern lights on this tour! The late June and early July period is the peak period for severe storms in the northern plains and high plains. Starting in Denver, Colorado gives us the opportunity to get anywhere we need to be. We will usually spend this time in Colorado, Wyoming, Nebraska, Montana and the Dakotas, as well as the Canadian Prairies, where supercells and tornadoes are often witnessed during this period! On this adventure you are likely to encounter fewer storm chasers, enabling you to enjoy in relative privacy the serenity of the open prairie land and the severe thunderstorms that frequent this region. This allows easier photography opportunities with fewer people crowding the roads! Also, storm motion is incredibly slow during this time of the year, allowing us to spend more time photographing storms and less time in the van moving! We will also spend “down time” photographing local sights, which are plentiful in the northern and high plains, as well as the Canadian Prairies! (There are no “down days” with Silver Lining Tours.) Our guests can count on being entertained with whatever the back roads of America have to offer. We also understand the importance of proper lighting and will schedule any “nonstorm” days accordingly, making sure the early morning or evening light is used to its best advantage.
Silver Lining Tours approach to these tours is simple. Led by Caryn Hill and/or Roger Hill, they will draw upon their years of experience and make sure their photography clients are in the best possible position for the ultimate shot. We know the importance of tripod mounted photography and will position our clients to allow them the time needed to set up and capture spectacular images. Our goal is to make sure you have a chance at shooting the ENTIRE storm structure as well as up close and personal tornado photos. Setting up for lengthy photo opportunities is a luxury sometimes not possible in regular storm chasing tours but is key to a successful severe weather photo shoot. Silver Lining Tours can get you there!
SLT guests can also count on comfortable accommodations. Silver Lining Photography Tours may be smaller in stature but big on customer service. Practicing quality over quantity, the photography tours will remain small in size, but huge in customer service! Vans used on the photography tours are roomy and are equipped with the same weather radar and van to van communication as the regular SLT tour vans, as well as power invertors at each seat for your use.
