As a young kid growing up afternoon storms were a daily occurrence in the Brisbane, Australia area. Big electrical storms were very normal growing up, thunder would scare the heck out of me. Little did I know, it would be a catalyst for what was to come. However when I was 12 a monster flood hit our farm and that really seemed to spike my interest in the weather. Back in 2001 when I turned 17 and got my licence I went on my first storm chase, not knowing what I was looking at, at the time. 2001 was also the first time I really looked into chasing in the USA, mainly because on our 60minutes show Roger was on it with our reporter Liz Hayes. It got my attention big time and so did Roger. For years I kept track of SLT and continued to grow my weather knowledge and chase more and more and become better at forecasting and chasing in general. I went from doing a few chases a year to the last 6-7 years chasing just about every set up South-East Queensland has to offer. I had a failed attempted at getting over to chase in Tornado Alley in 2008 as I had a knee reconstruction, but finally in 2010 I was able to head over and do a tour with Roger and SLT. At last I would come to experience the greatest storms on the plant. We had a very active week in which we got 3 amazing tornadoes. Ever since then I have returned every year to chase in the heart of America. I have now been fortunate enough to see 55 tornadoes in all shapes and sizes. In 2014 I had the privilege of being a tour guide with my chasing mentor (Roger) and be a part of SLT, and I had a ball! Always meeting great people on these tours and I can’t wait to meet and chase along side you!
