I intercepted a classic supercell 25 miles northwest of Clovis, NM. This storm produced two weak and brief tornadoes. The circulation at the ground was directly under a rotating wall cloud. A surface outflow boundary over the southwest TX panhandle moved west causing the storm to transform into a big HP beast. The storm did produce a new wall cloud southwest of Clovis, NM before sunset, however this wall cloud was high-based and didn't have much in the way of low-level rotation. |
