March 11, 2001 mesocyclone - part II: This video clip was taken from about 1/2 mile east of part I, still looking west-northwest up Highway 36. We had to move because the rapidly strengthening mesocyclone was moving at us rather quickly. The time of this clip is about 5:54 pm CST on Highway 36 about 0.5 miles east-southeast of Lamkin, Texas in southeastern Comanche county. You can see a rather substantial RFD dryslot expanding and occluding the low-level mesocyclone as it moves east across 36. Cloud base rotation was rather intense with precipitation curtains marching steadily around the periphery of the meso.
