 Despite lean times on the Plains in May and June, our team managed to witness numerous spectacular storms, including one of the most well-structured supercells any of us have ever seen on the Plains of West Texas in early May. We also experienced another devastating teeth-jarring hailstorm that blew out windows. Finally, on a local tour in August, we hit the jackpot and witnessed a tornadic beast in South Dakota, an event marking the grand finale of the 2006 season. And what a finale it was! Any storm lover will watch this production throughout the cold winter season!

Besides the usual array of close encounters with highly photogenic tornadoes, this video features one of the most violent hailstorms that we've ever encountered (it partially destroyed our van), as well as some exclusive footage taken from a video probe placed in the path of a strong west Texas tornado. You will be amazed at the footage of the deployment team's outright panic as they hurriedly throw the probe into the path of the approaching tornado! Also, watch a tornado outbreak unfold from two different vantage points as two of our teams in the field approach a variety of photogenic tornadoes from very different angles. This video is packed with over 100 minutes of huge tornadoes, jaw-dropping storm structure and vehicle-crushing hail. It contains the raw, uncut footage of the multiple-tornado producing monster supercell that raged across Brown and McPherson Counties, South Dakota on June 23, 2002.
