Stuart Robinson
Lead Guide, Technical Support
Hello All, I live in small Village in Leicestershire, England which is a world apart from the vast open spaces of the Great Plains. I am a living as a Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer. As well as driving for the tours I provide backup support for the array of computer equipment on the tour vans. I am also a licensed radio ham (M3JNU) which brings expertise in van to van communications. When not with the tours I am heavily involved in tornado research within Europe where I am a senior Executive with TORRO (http://www.torro.org.uk ) as wells as ESTOFEX (http://www.estofex.org ) , Europe's Storm Prediction project. I also co own the UK's Largest weather discussion forum UKww (http://www.ukweatherworld.co.uk). I also like to chase down the odd hurricane or two.
Stuart first joined SLT as a tour participant in 2002, "graduated" from the 2003 Master Class (as well as attending several other tours that year). He has been a regular ever since. We have watched Stuart's storm chasing career develop over the years and we are proud that SLT has played so big a role in Stuart's development. Indeed, Stuart can be characterized as an enormously talented storm chaser, perhaps even a prodigy. Not only has Stuart become an accomplished storm chaser with fabulous instincts, but he is also now a media presenter appearing in many tornado and hurricane made-for-TV productions within the UK, having worked with the BBC, ITV CH4 and SKY to name a few.
