Hello everyone!!! I am excited to lead all tours for 2011! Being a partner with Dr Gold has been a tremendously rewarding experience and I look forward to many years of working and chasing together, as well as being great friends (By the way, he is also one of the most gifted severe weather forecasters in the world!). I have seen 537 tornadoes in my chasing career spanning 25 years, and have seen tornadoes in 10 different months of the year and every plains state from Texas to North Dakota, Montana to Illinois. I have also witnessed many famous hurricanes and typhoons. Next to my wife Caryn, severe weather is my life! I spend more time on the road leading tours and chasing than I do for any other activity in my life. Nothing thrills me more than to be able to share those experiences with you, on tour. I teach daily Weather 101 classes to all participants, conduct storm spotting sessions in the field, and even teach photography and videography to clients.

I have had the pleasure to be a part of over 40 different severe weather television shows and appeared on such networks as National Geographic, The Weather Channel, The Discovery Channel, The Travel Channel, The Learning Channel, NOVA, BBC, 60 Minutes, all the major networks, as well as many other shows. I have a book that was released in the fall of 2009 titled "Hunting Nature's Fury" which chronicles my life as a storm chaser from growing up in Kansas as a child till today. It was a tremendously rewarding experience to co-author the book along with Mr Peter Bronski, who is an award winning writer.

I have been a part of various NSSL projects as a probe driver and captain, taught at Skywarn sessions around the country and been a guest lecturer and speaker at colleges, universities and civic organizations around the country. I have a masters degree and have been interested in severe storm forecasting for 30 years. I also film and photograph the tours and produce the annual highlights DVD that is part of your tour package. In my spare time (which there is little of!), I am an avid bowler, love the mountains and thoroughly enjoy watching Caryn show her horse. Caryn will also be helping with tours again this year, leading many of the on call tours, as well as the new Photography Tour.
